Our Story

Mail Boxes Etc. was founded in San Diego, California (U.S.A.) in 1980. Relying solely on franchising power, it has evolved into one of the world’s largest international networks of entrepreneurs operating retail-based logistic, communication and business support service centers.

MBE was bought by UPS Inc. in 2001.  Commencing in 2003, UPS rebranded in both the USA and Canada the MBE network of retail centers to “The UPS Store”. The remainder (i.e. excluding the U.S.A. and Canada) of the network of international MBE retail centers was acquired in 2009 by Mail Boxes Etc. Worldwide S.p.A. (“MBE WW”), a family-owned company based in Milan, Italy.
